Chapter: 181
Kaitlin raised an eyebrow, taken aback. "Is it really that serious?"
Most of her days were spent secluded in her office, far removed from the day-to-day interactions. Additionally, being pregnant meant that the staff generally spared her from workplace dramas.
Phoebe pressed on, “I'm not making this up, Kaitlin. It's truly dire. We're nearly done with the first set of design drafts. If she continues to meddle and spout nonsense, what are we going to do?"
The project was paramount. They could endure anything else.
“Have her come to my office. I'll speak with her," Kaitlin decided.
Phoebe looked at Kaitlin's belly, concern etching her features. "Are you sure you should handle this on your own? What if it becomes too stressful?"
"Don't worry, I'll manage. You tend to get heated and might end up in an argument, which would only upset Mr. Thomas. It's a delicate time; we need to tolerate her for a bit longer."
Phoebe reluctantly agreed, "Fine, but if she steps out of line with you, I won't hesitate to set her straight."
Kaitlin waved her hand dismissively, laughing lightly. "Seriously? We're hardly the mafia."
A few moments later, there was a knock at the office door.
"Come in," Kaitlin said.
"I heard you wanted to see me? Is there something you need?"
Setting aside her paperwork, Kaitlin smiled, rose from her desk, and walked slowly around Whitney, observing her silently.
Whitney's brow furrowed, her earlier arrogance fading slightly.
“Ms. Gilbert, what's going on? If I've done something to offend, please, just tell me straight."
Whitney shifted uncomfortably. She hadn't exactly meshed well with the studio staff.
Yet, that was simply her manner, shaped by years working alongside Manuel.
With that realization, she straightened her posture.
Kaitlin's smile softened, her voice warm and casual. "Oh, it's nothing serious. I just wanted to check how you're settling in. You're Mr. Thomas’ secretary, after all. It seems a bit of a waste to have you just overseeing a project here."
Whitney was caught off guard by the compliment.
"I've decided to get you started on some of the preliminary tasks,"
Kaitlin said. "Mr. Thomas mentioned you once studied design, right? This could be a great way for you to apply what you've learned.”
Whitney's demeanor softened, and she nodded in agreement. "Of course. This is exactly why Mr. Thomas sent me. If there's anything I can help with, just let me know."
Kaitlin smiled and clapped her hands in excitement. “Wonderful! On behalf of Oasis Studio, I really appreciate your help.”
