Chapter: 21
“And about that exclusive you promised. You're not going back on your word, are you?"

Rubbing her temples, Kaitlin chuckled at her oversight. "My apologies, just woke up. What's your preference-celebrity scandals or high-stakes corporate drama from Osewood?"

Three Drops responded with eager anticipation, "You mean I get to pick? Well, after my stellar performance, how about both?"

Kaitlin decided to leverage the moment. Swiftly, she provided Three Drops with some of the most sensational scoops she had.

Three Drops' response was a flurry of enthusiastic emojis and messages. He was clearly taken aback by the information.

"Kay, you're officially my hero now!"

"Appreciate it, just keep our deal under wraps, okay?"

“Don't worry, discretion is my middle name."

Though he didn't get the dirt on the Hope Design Competition judge as expected, Three Drops received even more valuable gossip. He considered the trade highly favorable.

After ending the chat, Kaitlin browsed the latest headlines online.

The statement from Larry had resolved Nora's plagiarism accusations but tactfully shifted the focus on himself to avoid upsetting Lilliana.

"The thorough review confirms Nora Andrews' design is authentic. Meanwhile, Lilliana Willis' entry remains a highlight of the competition, deservedly taking the top honor!"

Kaitlin's eyes widened as she scrolled through the public's reactions below the article-frustration, cynicism, and outright anger painted the comments section.

“Why wait till now to say something? Nora Andrews was dragged through the mud!"

“How is Lilliana Willis’ entry worth all the hype? It's just high-end trash. Are the judges visually impaired or what?"

"This is beyond ridiculous. No more faith in this Hope Design Competition, it's all staged!"

"And let's not start on Lilliana Willis-clearly, she's played everyone. Poor Nora was just a scapegoat."

It was almost comical how quickly public sentiment could shift.

Kaitlin shook her head, amused, and exited Twitter. A new message popped up from Phoebe.

“Hey, Nora's throwing a thank-you dinner for you tonight. You in?"

Kaitlin paused for a second before replying, “Let's make it a bigger celebration. Invite the whole studio team. My treat.”

Phoebe's response came quickly. “Seriously? Where's this secret stash of yours?"

Before Kaitlin could type out her answer, another message from Phoebe appeared.

“Forget it, it's on me. Keep your money for something fun."
