Chapter: 216
“Alright, let's head out. I'll show you a place that's special to me,"
Kaitlin said.
Though she called it a secret spot, it was actually a private coffee roastery hidden away from the usual bustle.
The location was somewhat remote and not well-known, making the rent affordable for its size-a sizable bargain indeed.
Stepping out of the car, Shawn looked around in mild surprise.
"I'm quite fond of the coffee beans they have here. What about you? Do you enjoy coffee?" Kaitlin said.
"It's alright."
Shawn, likely accustomed to late nights, probably relied on coffee more than he would admit.
As he approached, he had pictured countless places, yet this one never crossed his mind.
Still, he was captivated by its charm.
“I enjoy grinding my own coffee beans. The sound is surprisingly calming," Kaitlin explained.
This was new to Shawn. He had never heard anyone find grinding beans soothing.
When Kaitlin arrived, she seemed even more at ease, as if she frequented this spot.
Kaitlin guided Shawn to a terrace on the second floor, where a balcony awaited, perfect for basking in the afternoon sun.
“Mr. Murphy, please, take a seat." Kaitlin gestured to the plush sofa beside her, and Shawn, complying with a nod, took a seat.
The sofa was extraordinarily comfortable, almost making it a struggle to consider standing again.
Shawn, typically maintaining a formal posture, found himself relaxing into the cushions with ease.
Kaitlin, with a careful hand, selected some coffee beans and prepared to begin.
She didn't overlook involving Shawn, delegating the task to him and guiding him with patience through each step.
Although the process was straightforward, it demanded a gentle patience.
In the tranquil atmosphere, a sense of ease washed over both of them.
For Shawn, this was a fresh and intriguing experience, and it shaped his view of Kaitlin as someone both fascinating and delightful.
“You're doing wonderfully. Just continue like this," she encouraged.
Kaitlin expertly guided Shawn through the process.
