Chapter: 227
Alan had no memory of him.
This would only make Shawn's plans more interesting.
“Mr. Murphy, how's your injury?" Shawn's assistant asked.
“It's nothing. You handled today's situation quite well," Shawn responded.
Shawn had staged the accident involving a falling flowerpot.
Surprisingly, Alan had rushed to the hospital, showing unexpected concern for Kaitlin.
It was clear now that Kaitlin was Alan's weakness.
"How is the investigation into the other matters progressing?" Shawn asked.
The assistant hesitated, then updated him about Owen's predicament.
"He's confined in Alan's villa. Apparently, he kidnapped Kaitlin but was later captured by Alan."
Shawn scoffed at the complexity of the scenario.
“Bold move, kidnapping Kaitlin," he muttered.
“What are our next steps, Mr. Murphy?" the assistant asked.
“Let's make things interesting. Help Owen Russell escape to stir up trouble for Alan," Shawn instructed.
The assistant nodded, knowing that the enemy of his boss's enemy was indeed his ally. "Understood, Mr. Murphy. I'll get on it right away," he affirmed.
"Remember, discretion is key. Once he's escaped, make sure he comes to see me," Shawn instructed.
"Yes, Mr. Murphy," the assistant responded with a nod.
With that, Shawn's car pulled away from the hospital.
Meanwhile, Kaitlin, now engrossed in the co-branding collaboration project, found herself swamped with work.
After organizing her initial drafts, she decided it was time to discuss the project details with Shawn and check on his recovery.
Since the Murphy Group's branch was conveniently close to Oasis Studio, Kaitlin declined Phoebe's offer to accompany her and drove there alone.
At the same time, Shawn was listening intently as Owen recounted his ordeals, including his collaboration with Ashley, through gritted teeth.
The long confinement had left Owen visibly worn, his gaunt face shadowed beneath his hat.
Alan's men were skilled in the dark arts of interrogation.
