Chapter: 247
“Why have you stopped running?" Alan asked, staring at Owen.

Owen yelped in agony, his voice pleading. "Mr. Hewitt, please let me go. I'll leave Ms. Gilbert alone. You have my word on.."

"Shut the hell up!" Alan snapped, abruptly cutting him off as he whipped out his phone to call his crew. Without warning, an ambush erupted from behind.

Nimbly dodging, Alan was swift, yet Owen was captured by the assailant.

The attacker, obscured by a mask and sunglasses, concealed his identity well, but there was something eerily familiar about him to Alan.

“Hand him over! This has nothing to do with you!" Alan demanded, but the attacker remained silent, quickly trying to flee with Owen in tow.

Pursuing the enigmatic figure, Alan found himself embroiled in a tense skirmish that ended inconclusively.

In the chaos, Owen seized the chance to slip away unseen.

With a forceful kick, Alan made the man wince, his disheveled attire revealing a barely visible tattoo on his neck.

Alerted by noises from the alley's entrance, the masked man took off running.

Teeth clenched, Alan barked orders at his men to pursue.

Despite their best efforts, the assailant and Owen split paths, disappearing without a trace.

The masked man vanishing as if he were a ghost, the mystery deepened for Alan, who pieced together that Owen must have had an accomplice.

"Check out that tattoo!" Alan commanded fiercely.

Based on his memory, Alan sketched a rough image of the tattoo-a black butterfly situated on the neck.

It was small enough to be concealed by a collared shirt.

Although this clue was crucial, his team had only found similar tattoos, none that were an exact match.

As Alan pondered this, Kaitlin entered the study and caught sight of the sketch.

“What's this?" she asked, curiosity piquing.

“It's the tattoo of the man who helped Owen escape. Right here, on his neck," Alan explained, pointing to the indicated area.

A flicker of recognition crossed Kaitlin's face.

"Neck..." she murmured.

“What? You recognize it?" Alan leaned in, his interest sharpened.

Kaitlin hesitated, her expression conflicted as she nodded then shook her head.
