Chapter: 250
“Why are you here so suddenly? Didn't you just mention over the phone that you needed time to think?" Phoebe asked.

Kaitlin nodded. “I've made my decision, so here I am. Mr. Murphy must have left a proposal, correct? Let me see it."

Phoebe, looking somewhat defeated, handed her the documents Shawn had left behind. "Have a look. The plan is all-encompassing. We really don't have much to worry over. That's precisely what makes it suspicious. There's no such thing as a free Lunch, right?"

Kaitlin mulled over her friend's observations as she glanced again at the proposal, feeling increasingly skeptical. "It's just too perfect," she remarked.

Phoebe vigorously agreed, “Something is fishy."

Kaitlin sat back, her initial excitement about the collaboration fading.

“Should I just say no for you? I could make an excuse about your health," Phoebe suggested tentatively.

Kaitlin hesitated, then shook her head. “Let's hold off for now."

“We can wait, but I doubt Mr. Murphy will be thrilled about it. What if we delay too long and upset the Murphy Group?" Phoebe expressed her concern. The prospect of collaborating overseas seemed pressing, and she knew Shawn would not want to wait long for a response from Oasis Jewelry.

"Given the scale of this project, Mr. Murphy surely planned this well ahead. If we back out now, other studios will leap at the opportunity. Believe me, we'll be the ones missing out, not Murphy Group," Phoebe reasoned.

With a sigh, Kaitlin decided not to rush her decision. "Alright, we'll wait."

Phoebe didn't press any further and shifted the conversation to Kaitlin's health and recent activities.

After a while, she returned to her work.

Back at the office, Alan soon received an update, though it wasn't about Shawn. It was Kaitlin.

"Kaitlin went to office? And took her things? Why didn't the butler stop her?" he queried, puzzled.

"Mr. Hewitt, Ms. Gilbert mentioned she'd be back soon, but she's been at the studio for quite some time now and doesn't seem inclined to leave," Dylan informed him.

Alan let out a soft sigh. "Any word on Shawn?"

“Yes, he was at Oasis Studio this morning to discuss the overseas project," Dylan replied.

Dylan detailed everything thoroughly, and as he spoke, a shadow fell over Alan's face.

"Has Kaitlin given her approval?" Alan asked.

“That... I'm not sure yet," Alan responded.

Alan could no longer remain seated. His gut screamed that something was off. “Prepare the car. I need to see Kaitlin.”

Upon arriving at the Oasis Studio, he found Kaitlin immersed in a meeting.

She had been absent for some time, with much to catch up on.
