Chapter: 288
Kaitlin confirmed firmly, “I'll make sure my schedule is clear. See you in Estresa."
She quickly passed along the exciting news to Alan.
This was a moment to celebrate.
“Are you going to Estresa by yourself?"
Alan's voice came through the phone, sounding a bit down, yet mostly concerned.
The doctor had just advised her during a prenatal check-up to rest more.
If she were a judge, how could she get a good rest?
What if something unforeseen happened?
Alan grew increasingly anxious. "Do you really have to go?"
Kaitlin answered firmly, "Yes."
"Okay." After ending the call, Alan turned to Dylan and instructed, "Cancel my afternoon."
Dylan complained silently but knew he had to arrange it.
Alan then drove straight to Oasis Studio.
In the office, Kaitlin was napping on the couch. A ray of sunlight poured through the window, shining on her, creating a serene and panoramic scene.
Alan stood at the door, observing Kaitlin through the glass. His anxiety seemed to lessen slightly.
“Mr. Hewitt, why don't you come in?" Phoebe asked as she passed by and glanced inside. “Kaitlin is resting. What did you want to discuss with her? I can pass along the message."
Alan's expression softened as he turned to speak with Phoebe. "Is she participating as a competitor in the Estresa Element Design Contest?"
"No, she's going to be a judge. It's quite different," Phoebe corrected him earnestly, lifting an eyebrow at Alan. "Well, you're not cool with this?"
Realizing his concerns were obvious, Alan wasn't embarrassed but got straight to the point. "It's just not safe for her to travel to Estresa by herself."
"She won't be alone; her assistant and others will be with her to ensure she's looked after," Phoebe reassured him, clicking her tongue.
"Don't worry. Judging won't be exhausting. She only has to review the entries, and she enjoys that. If you're even hesitant about letting her do that, you might end up in a disagreement with her!"
"Understood," Alan responded.
Meanwhile, Kaitlin continued to sleep peacefully in the office.
Alan hesitated for a moment but decided not to enter. "I'm heading out now."
