Chapter: 294
"The more I see her, the more she reminds me of Mom..." he murmured to himself.

Back in her room, Kaitlyn pondered the evening's interactions.

Denton's abrupt approach and his shocked expression had left her feeling uneasy. She slipped off her dress and checked her phone.

There were five missed calls from Alan.

She had muted her phone earlier, and none of the calls had come through.

Kaitlyn returned the call. “Alan, my phone was on silent. I didn't hear your calls," she explained as soon as he answered.

After a brief silence, Alan sighed in relief. "It's okay. Just try to get some rest tonight, alright?" he advised.

“The first round is tomorrow, so I might not check my messages immediately. But don't worry, I'll take good care of myself," Kaitlyn responded.

"Okay, I understand," Alan said.

After reassuring him, Kaitlyn ended the call. She washed her face and quickly fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Alan lay awake, restless with concern.

It was Kaitlyn's first time in Estresa, and she was pregnant. Could anything go wrong?

After much deliberation, he sat up, reached for his phone, and dialed Dylan's number.

“I'm going to Estresa myself," he said.

Dylan, after being jolted from sleep, felt confused. “Mr. Hewitt, you don't need to go there personally for this project," he responded groggily.

"You got a problem with that?" Alan said, sounding slightly displeased.

Dylan immediately fell silent. He wouldn't dare express any disagreement. “Alright, Mr. Hewitt. When will you be leaving?”

“Tomorrow.”

Dylan's eyes widened as he silently suppressed any objections.

“Arrange the company affairs. I'll be in Estresa for a few days,"

Alan continued.

The preliminary round of the Estresa Element Design Competition was heating up. Backstage, Kaitlin was getting ready, letting the makeup artist apply makeup to her face.

A staff member brought the list of competitors to the judges.

"Good morning, Ms. Gilbert."
