Chapter: 43
After a brief pause, Quintin reactivated his seldom-used Twitter account to address the uproar.

“Kaitlin and I are merely good friends. Please refrain from making baseless accusations and stop attacking her with such malice."

His message was straightforward and firmly stated his position.

Yet, the tide of comments didn't turn; many continued to doubt his words, suspecting he was just trying to preserve his bachelor persona.

The shift in his followers was stark; admirers morphed into detractors, openly disparaging their once-favored celebrity.

Distressed by the turn of events, Quintin asked his agent to manage the fallout, insisting they keep Kaitlin out of it.

ALL blame was to be directed at him instead.

After he set this plan in motion, sleep eluded Quintin, so he found solace in a glass of wine.

The situation was more complex than he had envisioned, tangled with elements like Kaitlin's ex-husband and her pregnancy.

Despite efforts to quell the harsh hashtags about her, Kaitlin awoke to a digital landscape that hadn't quite forgotten.

Phoebe, noticing the news, called her first thing in the morning.

"That handsome guy is a celebrity! No wonder he's so striking. But it looks messy now. What's your plan?" she said.

As she stared at the infamous photo, Kaitlin's initial suspicion fell on Lilliana.

“What else can I do? The one behind this will pay for this," she responded, her voice tinged with the fatigue of a sleepless night and the fresh frustration of the morning's revelations.

Phoebe sighed deeply. “Maybe you should stay home for a few days. I'm worried the paparazzi will trap you. Just wait for this media frenzy to settle before you venture out again."

Kaitlin considered her words, quickly sorted through her work commitments, and decided to take a break at home.

After ending the call, she messaged Three Drops to dig into who was stirring up trouble.

As she awaited his reply, Quintin called her, his voice raspy. “Have you checked the online news? Don't let it bother you. I've got people managing the situation."

Kaitlin reassured him. "I'm not too concerned. After all, I'm not the famous one here. But with your fans turning on you, how are you planning to handle it?"

Quintin's mood lifted instantly, his tone Lightening. “It's a bit messy right now. If things go south and I lose my job, could I possibly work at your studio?"

Kaitlin, caught off guard, responded cautiously, “Is it really that serious?"

"It's pretty dire. I haven't been acting much lately, and with this scandal, my career might just collapse. Show some compassion. Take me in?"

Quintin's flair for design was undeniable. His rift with his family had initially driven him towards fame. Now, driven by his passion and the possibility of working closely with Kaitlin, he was eager to embrace this new opportunity.

Kaitlin pondered for a moment. Feeling somewhat responsible since she had recommended the restaurant, she replied, "I'll talk to Phoebe. The pay might not be great initially."
