Chapter: 78
Yvette, eager to cement her reputation, was gearing up for her debut jewelry show.
An invitation was dispatched to Oasis Studio, singling out Kaitlin for attendance.
Upon seeing the invitation, Phoebe couldn't hide her astonishment.
"Yvette Streep really knows what she's doing. Just a few words at the dinner party and she had Alan on board. I'm curious about her secret."
Kaitlin had seen it coming, though she hadn't anticipated the speed with which the news had traveled.
"Could this be a challenge? Yvette Streep seems far more adept than Lilliana," Phoebe continued.
Kaitlin nodded in agreement. She had tasked Three Drops with investigating Yvette's past, but they unearthed nothing incriminating.
As a direct mentee of Xavier, Yvette had demonstrated remarkable talent from an early age.
Indeed, she was a bona fide genius designer.
“Don't worry. Let's just concentrate on what we offer. Even if she matches our caliber, it won't affect our business," Kaitlin said.
Osewood was a breeding ground for covert talents. The fact that Oasis Jewelry had staked a claim there was a notable triumph.
Still, they couldn't expect to monopolize the market entirely.
“That's a valid concern, but I'm uneasy about Yvette Streep's potential overambition."
Phoebe was visibly worried. With the vast resources of the Hewitt Group and Alan backing her, Yvette was poised to succeed with far less difficulty.
Quintin approached with a cup of coffee in hand and took a brief look at the invitation.
"I step away for a few days on a business trip, and all this excitement unfolds?" he cut in.
“The dinner last night was quite the spectacle. A famous designer from abroad made quite the entrance. Seems she's here to shake things up," Phoebe explained.
Quintin's eyebrow arched with interest. "Is that so? I can't miss out on this jewelry exhibition."
"That sounds like a plan. Maybe you should go with Kaitlin and give her your support."
After offering some advice, Phoebe excused herself to attend to other matters, leaving only Kaitlin and Quintin in the office.
"You look a bit off today," Quintin remarked.
Kaitlin glanced up, slightly confused. "Me?"
“Don't act confused. It's obvious. Has your ex-husband been begging you to come back to him lately? Are you planning to forgive him?"
Quintin's direct approach caught Kaitlin off-guard, and she hesitated before responding.
