Chapter: 1025
Nikolas Lifted his red-rimmed eyes and asked, "Mom, is there anything you can do?"

“Does Aimee know about your daughter?"

Nikolas shook his head. "She broke up with me before I had the chance to tell her."

“What if..." Gilda began, but once again, she was interrupted by her son.

“Mom, I don't want to lie to her anymore. I already betrayed her trust once. I can't do it again."

Nikolas was well aware that covering up this situation entirely wasn't out of the question.

Yet, every time he met Aimee's gaze, unease gnawed at him.

He had wanted to confess the truth to Aimee and then wait for her to accept it.

But now, that was no longer necessary. Everything had fallen apart.

"Nikolas, are you really planning to break up with Aimee? You two were on the brink of getting engaged." Gilda, who had always Liked Aimee, sensed the gravity of her son's decision this time.

But the circumstances were hard to mend.

Not long after, Kai returned with the doctor. He was puzzled by the sight of his wife clutching their son and weeping.

As the doctor tended to Nikolas’ injured hand, Gilda recounted the entire ordeal to her husband, hoping he could find a solution to their predicament.

To her astonishment, Kai had no intention of fixing things. He said bluntly, “Nikolas, bring Siena here later.”

Gilda was taken aback. “What are you going to do?"

Kai, temper barely in check, replied, “She gave birth to your child, so you have to be responsible. The child of the Bennett family cannot be left outside. But before that, you need to do a paternity test."

Kai wouldn't acknowledge an unknown child without proof.

"I won't marry her."

Nikolas remained motionless, his back stiff. Despite the doctor treating his wound, he didn't flinch.

"Then why did you get involved with her? Why get her pregnant at all?"

Kai slammed the table, disregarding everyone else in the room.

"Nikolas, I told you not to fool around. There's no one like you in the entire Bennett family. But did you listen? No! Now you've caused trouble, and you're just breaking things at home. What kind of behavior is that?"

"Kai, just say no more," Gilda quickly interjected, fearing her son's emotions would worsen.

Kai scolded his wife sharply, “And you! You even planned to keep this from Aimee. What were you thinking? You sympathize with your son, but isn't their daughter precious too? I believe you're partly to blame for his behavior. You've spoiled him."
