Chapter: 1031
After all, he had earnestly assured her that he had only accompanied Siena to the hospital that night, and that nothing had happened between the two of them. He had even urged Aimee to check the surveillance footage, so he must have been telling the truth.
But Aimee couldn't get past the fact that he had intentionally turned off his phone!
Had he simply told her that Siena was in trouble and needed his help, Aimee might have understood and let him assist openly. However, secrecy changed everything.
Even if nothing untoward happened between him and Siena, Aimee felt betrayed.
She decided to let it go. Perhaps she wasn't even pregnant. No need to dwell on it.
“Aimee Bates, please come to consulting room No. 3."
The announcement came from the electronic screen in the waiting area.
Aimee stood up swiftly, adjusted her hat, and headed towards room No.
Unlike other expectant mothers who were accompanied by friends or family, Aimee was alone and heavily disguised, drawing curious looks from others.
She hurried into the consulting room, and even the doctor seemed taken aback by her attire.
"Is it cold outside?"
"No, it's not."
"Did you come here alone?" The doctor quickly composed herself and began to inquire about Aimee's basic health.
"Yes,"
"If the test confirms your pregnancy, do you plan to keep the baby?"
The doctor's tone was clinical, a question she posed countless times each day.
This being Aimee's first visit, she was startled. "Do I need to decide right now?"
She had thought she'd have time to think after getting the results!
The doctor looked up, her expression serious. "Well, the procedures differ based on your decision. If you're considering keeping the baby, there are specific exams we can't perform now. If you're leaning towards not keeping it, a transvaginal ultrasound would give us a clearer picture of the pregnancy's stage and embryo size, helping to determine the most appropriate procedure."
Aimee paused, absorbing the information.
"That's how it works!"
"If you're unsure, we can start with the standard prenatal examinations."
"Okay." Aimee nodded.
"Please pay at the front desk and return here after the exams."
