Chapter: 1036
"I came here to confess something!" Nikolas' voice carried a hint of desperation, though he struggled to articulate his thoughts. “You mentioned you had something to tell me too. Why don't you start?"
"You wanted this meeting. You should speak first."
Aimee wasn't about to reveal her pregnancy first; she needed to gauge Nikolas' intentions.
"Okay." Nikolas cleared his throat, visibly agitated. "It's about Siena."
Siena again!
Aimee had hoped Nikolas was going to suggest they get back together.
"Why does she keep coming between us?" Aimee's frustration was evident. “Are you sure she's really your ex-girlfriend?"
"It's true! But we haven't been in touch for more than two years!"
Nikolas blurted out, though he knew it didn't matter much after admitting the news about his daughter.
"So? Did any old feelings come back?"
"No."
Aimee rubbed her forehead with frustration. “Alright, so what exactly do you want to say about Siena?"
“What is it?"
Nikolas hesitated, his thin Lips parting without a sound. He reached for the cigarette pack in his pocket again.
Aimee slapped his hand away. “Don't smoke here!"
Nikolas remained silent for a few seconds.
"Just say it. I can't stand the smoke."
He finally whispered through gritted teeth, "I... I have a daughter with Siena..."
Aimee didn't hear any word clearly.
She frowned, annoyance flickering in her eyes. "Are you a mosquito?"
She wished she could hand him a megaphone. Was he testing her patience?
Once he got the words out, it felt a little easier to say them again.
Nikolas took a deep breath and spoke louder. “I said Siena and I have a daughter. She's over a year old now."
Aimee was quiet. She was stunned into silence.
