Chapter: 1062
Bethany took a deep breath and grabbed Aimee's cold hand. "Aimee, so you want to keep the baby?"

Aimee shook her head and said, "I can't keep it. It's not about whether I want to or not."

"You love Nikolas."

“How could I not? Any woman would be touched by his unique preference. Bethany, even someone as reserved as you were moved by Jonathan, let alone me. I never thought a man Like him would pursue me and show such affection."

Bethany tried to speak several times but stopped herself. It seemed wrong to say anything now.

“Bethany, I can't change my mind. I can't have this baby. Tell me, I can't have it, can I?"

Bethany hesitated, then gave a curt nod. "Well, you must have made the best choice for yourself."

"Yes, exactly! If I end up as a stepmother, I won't be the kind and gentle type!”

Bethany observed Aimee's smile, recognizing the strain behind it. The attempt at humor fell flat, only deepening the discomfort rather than providing any relief.

Unknown to them, Nikolas had spent the entire night outside Aimee's apartment.

Exhausted, Nikolas slumped against Aimee's apartment door. Unable to keep his eyes open, he eventually sank down on the steps and leaned back against the wall.

Being here, even in this state, gave him a small sense of closeness to her.

It was a meager comfort compared to returning to the empty villa.

The next morning, just as Nikolas was drifting into a restless sleep, he suddenly felt a presence right in front of him.

He jolted awake, his eyes snapping open.

“Jonathan? What are you doing here?"

Jonathan, his face etched with urgency, leaned in and clamped his hand over Nikolas' mouth. "Quiet. I can't let Bethany see me."

Nikolas, startled, fell silent.

Jonathan threw a quick glance at the apartment door and said, "Follow me."

“Okay.”

Nikolas struggled to his feet, his legs heavy and unsteady. He swayed as he tried to regain his balance, nearly stumbling.

Two tall figures descended the stairs one after the other. Their striking good looks were such that, had there been anyone around at this early hour, they might have been tempted to snap photos.

To avoid drawing attention, Jonathan had opted to drive Brody's car.

"Get in the car."
