Chapter: 1064
"What's this?"

"It's the blood test results for your ex's child."

Nikolas picked it up and glanced at it. The report listed only two items.

The first line stated, "ABO blood group: 0."

The second line read, "Rh (D) blood group: negative (+)."

"What does this mean?"

"The child has type 0 blood."

Nikolas frowned, irritated. “Do you think I'm in the mood to discuss her blood type right now?"

He was clearly annoyed.

Jonathan seemed even more exasperated than Nikolas, but said patiently, "I recall from the company's regular physicals that your blood type is AB."

"Really? I don't remember." Nikolas tossed the report aside nonchalantly, leaned back, and closed his eyes. "I'm not sick from those exams. Why should I bother remembering that?"

Jonathan was frustrated but turned his gaze back to the window.

The window remained shut, and the curtains drawn. It seemed Bethany hadn't woken up yet; she always liked to linger in bed.

Nikolas was drifting off when a sudden thought jolted him awake.

“No, wait. Why did you mention that?"

Jonathan was not one to speak without purpose.

Nikolas picked up the report again and scrutinized it.

Still, he found nothing new.

Jonathan spoke calmly, as if discussing the weather. “Check on your phone what blood types the parents must have if their child is type 0."

Nikolas paused, then responded, "I'm AB, so maybe Siena is O! It must be from her."

He began to search on his phone.

Jonathan couldn't fathom why he was friends with someone who had forgotten basic biology.

“If one parent has type AB blood, it's genetically impossible for them to have a child with type 0 blood.”

Nikolas paused again. Then, looking startled, he asked, “Are you serious?"
