Chapter: 1070
In stark contrast to her fury, Kai remained eerily composed, his gaze fixed on Nikolas.
“Nikolas, do you recall what I once told you?"
Nikolas hesitated, then replied, "I remember."
“Now, see the consequences of your actions! You always argued that living for fun was the way to go. Now, you've become ensnared in someone else's scheme, haven't you?"
Nikolas was drowning in regret.
He wished he had listened to his parents' warnings.
"Dad, I really know I was wrong!" he pleaded, his voice thick with remorse.
In the past, Nikolas had filled the emptiness in his heart with countless fleeting flings. But after meeting Aimee, he realized that his empty heart could be filled by just one person.
How could he change the ridiculous mistakes of his past?
Could he really blame Aimee for arriving in his life too late?
Kai glanced at Siena but held his tongue. "Nikolas, it's other people's business whether they choose to act against you or not. But if you let them, that's on you. Don't feel wronged. Always remember, you can only change yourself, not others."
Nikolas lowered his head, unable to respond.
Over the years, his father had scolded him more times than he could count for spending too much time in bars and wasting his days. But Nikolas had always dismissed him as overly strict, even believing that Kai cared more about his career than his son.
Now, after making such a monumental mistake, he finally understood the truth his father had been trying to impart.
"Mr. Bennett, I just Love him too much. I was young and impulsive back then, so thoughtless!" Siena burst into tears, her sobs wracking her body. “After I got pregnant, I didn't dare to tell my family. It wasn't easy to hide. If I didn't love him sincerely, how could I have gone through with it?"
“That's your business, Siena. It has nothing to do with us. I'm talking to my son. Don't interfere." Kai's expression remained unchanged.
Nikolas leaned against the wall, feeling the weight of his father's words.
He didn't want to speak.
All he could think about was Aimee and their unborn baby. How could he win them back?
Aimee's concerns echoed in his mind. If he were in her position, he might also think a man like him wasn't worth trusting for a lifetime.
"Is Siena Todd here?"
The words cut through the tense silence.
Finally, the doctor opened the door and stepped out, clutching another test report.
Siena, closest to the door, rushed forward to grab it.
