Chapter: 1100
“Are you okay?"
Nikolas’ eyes narrowed, sensing something amiss.
"Yes."
“After we finish at the registry, I'll take you wherever you'd Like - for lunch or shopping."
Aimee's eyes went up, locking with his. “Do you really have to do this?"
Nikolas' expression turned cold, his eyes growing dark and intense.
"I've told you you'll marry me eventually. Why are you fighting it?"
"We are barely familiar with each other!"
"And we have the rest of our lives to change that."
Aimee pressed her lips together, realizing it was pointless to argue further.
Upon their arrival at the City Hall, she had hoped to find a moment to slip away amid the chaos. But to her disappointment, Nikolas had cleared the place of all other people.
It was just the two of them, alone for the registration.
"Mr. Bennett, Miss Bates, we'll need to take a photo first."
“Sure thing!" Nikolas said eagerly, reaching out to guide Aimee along.
"Hold on!"
Aimee immediately called out, her hands pressed against her stomach.
“I need to use the bathroom first. Is that alright?"
She forced an anxious look, hoping he'd buy her story.
Nikolas, not thinking twice, nodded. "I'll take you there."
"No, it's fine. I can go on my own."
Hurriedly, she dashed toward the restroom.
As soon as Aimee entered the building, she quickly spotted where the restroom was.
Nikolas unknowingly trialed behind her but stopped, letting her go with a puzzled Look.
Perhaps she really did need a moment to use the restroom.
