Chapter: 118
You could cook some of your great meals, help me tidy up, and we'd have each other's company. It's decided, then. You can come over tonight!" "Okay, we'll discuss it more after you're done with work."

After hanging up, Aimee pondered briefly before dialing Jayson.

"I've got some news you might find interesting. Bethany's moving in with me today, and she might need a hand with her stuff."

Jayson chuckled on the other end, a touch of helplessness in his voice. “You're really clever, always managing to make your points in such a roundabout way."

“Hey! I'm doing this for you! You can help if you want, or not!"

"I'll be there!" Jayson laughed. "I'll come over after work. Thank you for setting this up, okay?"

"That's the spirit!" Aimee exclaimed. "Even though Bethany is going through a rough patch now, she's bound to do well in her career eventually. And then, you'll have a successful and beautiful wife. Just sit back and enjoy the ride!"

“You're right!" Jayson agreed.

“That's settled, then. See you tonight."

After hanging up, Aimee let out a sigh of relief.

She was now looking forward to her best friend becoming her cousin's wife. If Bethany and Jayson ended up together, she and Bethany would truly become family.

Bethany gathered her belongings and tidied up the master bedroom.

Then, she methodically picked up the strawberries scattered around the living room and stored them in the fridge.

Even though they weren't hers, it seemed a waste to let them spoil.

She stood before the fridge, picked up a strawberry, and tasted it.

It was sweet.

Suddenly, Bethany understood why Jonathan often claimed to be a neat freak. It meant that even if she was just a stand-in, she had to be faithful to him physically and emotionally.

That explained why he had canceled his plans with Maddie and came to the hospital in fury upon discovering that she had brought another man to visit her mother.

Bethany felt certain that her relationship with Jonathan was over for good this time.

According to their agreement, if he ended the contract first, she wouldn't have to pay him back.

Still, Bethany resolved to repay him when she was able to, as a way to preserve her self-respect.

At six in the evening, she took a taxi to Aimee's house.

Aimee greeted her with joy, with Jayson following close behind.

"You've finally agreed to stay at my place. I'm thrilled.”
