Colt couldn't resist praising her as he emerged from his office and noticed Bethany diligently questioning a worker about the project.

He thought that if a woman had some support and a man standing behind her, she might become arrogant. But not Bethany. She could have easily leaned back and watched the money roll in, yet she chose to stay actively involved.

"I've just taken the project back. I can't disregard all the effort that's already been put into it," Bethany explained, smiling.

“Everyone's pushing hard. They're hoping to complete the project and secure a year-end bonus."

Colt's eyebrows went up. “Speaking of the bonus, you could just tell Mr. Bates and he'd grant it, right?"
