When Jonathan found out, he hurried down from the CEO's office, heading straight to the project team to find Bethany.

He had worked so hard to help her rediscover her love for life, to pull her away from thoughts of suicide. The idea of Maddie upsetting her again terrified him.

“But I already agreed," Bethany said, noticing the worry etched on his face. She tried to reassure him with a smile. “It's okay, Jonathan. I'm alright."

“So what? If you change your mind, no one would blame you. I'll handle it." Jonathan's expression darkened.
