"Hey! What does this have to do with Bethany? It was Jayson's girlfriend who argued with him!"

Aimee was the first to react and stood in defense of Bethany.

"Go ask him! What were they arguing about? And over whom?" retorted Kelley Watson, Jayson's mother. Her voice rose as she turned her frustration towards Aimee. "How can you still defend her? Don't you care about Jayson? If you hadn't introduced her to him, he would never have met such a person. Bethany, right? You're nothing but trouble! If you didn't want to be with my son, why didn't you make that clear sooner? He could have moved on long ago. How could you let him take care of your children for years?"

Kelley vented all her pent-up frustration.

“My son wasted so many years because of you. You rejected him but wanted to stay friends! Nonsense! You never really pushed him away!"
