Brody snapped his fingers. "Exactly! He barely stops to eat. I've told him a hundred times to slow down, but he never listens. Maybe you can help convince him when he wakes up."
Samira arched a brow. "Me? Why would he listen to me? I'm no one to him."
“No one else is up to the task," Brody said with a knowing grin, catching her gaze in the rearview mirror. “After all, you're Mr. Bates’ fiancee now."
Samira nearly lost her cool at his words but quickly masked her reaction, tightening her grip to keep her composure. “Technically, yes. But that's only what his father wants. Jonathan hasn't agreed to it."
Brody sighed dramatically. "He's never been much for words. Sure, he didn't admit it, but he didn't deny it either. And there hasn't been another woman in his life since he broke up with Bethany. He thought they could end things civilly, but she's asking for houses, cars, and even his property. It's infuriated him, and that explains why he fainted."
