Bethany shook her head, amused. "I know you too well. You'd end up staying up late to catch up on work. And poor Brody-he's already drowning in tasks."

Jonathan chuckled. "Yeah, Brody's been taking one for the team Lately."

Bethany's eyes suddenly lit up, spotting a vendor selling toffee apples nearby. "Ooh, I want one!" she said, childlike excitement coloring her voice. "I'll get it," Jonathan offered, standing and heading towards the vendor.

Bethany watched him go, her smile softening. She took out her phone, snapping a quick picture of Jonathan while he ordered.

She wanted to capture the memory, this little slice of their life together.
