“Ten million's not pocket change." Ryan finished his cigarette, flicking it to the ground and crushing it under his shoe. “But if that's not enough for you, don't bother. I've already got the permanent antidote."

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving her standing there.

Samira paused for a brief moment before calling after him. "Okay, I'll sell it to you. But don't think I'm doing this for nothing. I understand how much this means to you-it's like how I feel about Jonathan. Consider it a favor for you and Bethany."

Ryan lifted an eyebrow, giving her a skeptical look. "You sure know how to make a deal. You're squeezing me dry, and I'm supposed to say thanks?"
