"Maybe it would be best to inform Mr. Bates and discuss the plan with him before we proceed," Brody suggested cautiously.

He was fully aware of the situation and knew exactly whom Bethany intended to meet.

Ideally, Bethany would have preferred to keep even Brody unaware, but that proved unfeasible. Jonathan, concerned for her safety, had instructed Brody to accompany her everywhere.

Should Brody deviate from her, Jonathan would surely find out.
