After Brody left, Jonathan settled into his chair and dialed Bethany's number. He decided not to burden Bethany with these upsetting matters.

“Bethany, are you tied up with work again?"

There was a brief pause, then Bethany's laughter came through the line. "Yes. Have you finally cleared your schedule to check in on someone running a small operation Like mine?"

"I was thinking of inviting you to dinner tonight. Are you free?"

"I'll have to check my schedule. There are quite a few people eager to meet with me. You might have to wait in line."
