"Why?"

"No particular reason." He simply couldn't stand to see what he had written in his youth, and certainly not to have Bethany read it right before him.

Bethany was puzzled by his actions. He had shown her the letter only to take it back.

Suddenly, an idea struck her.

“You said this letter was for me. Then why does it ask, ‘Do you know the secret of 0825'? What is the secret of 08257"

What did this number have to do with her?

She had always assumed this letter was meant for Maddie from Jonathan, and 0825 related to Maddie.

“I'll tell you on August 25th next year."

He had planned to reveal it this year but somehow missed the opportunity.

Bethany was left speechless.

"I'm tired. Let's go to bed." Jonathan quickly left the room.

Bethany noticed his ears had turned red.

But wait, that wasn't the point.

“Hey, finish what you were saying!"
