Chapter: 210
"Yes, she is. Please, don't overthink it," Maddie quickly said. “You need to look after your health. There's no need to upset yourself over this."

Francine was no fool. She sensed something was off from Maddie's tone and expression. "Tell me, who is that woman?"

"She's a cleaner. Honestly!" Maddie asserted.

"Don't Lie to me, Maddie. Aren't you supposed to be on my side? How could you keep this from me for Jonathan's sake?" Francine was livid, convinced that Bethany held a significant role if she could enter her son's home.

She had assumed her son had hired help because he was too busy and liked things tidy. But today, observing Maddie's reluctance, she was sure Bethany was more than just a cleaner.

Maddie lowered her head, her Lips pressed together in embarrassment.

"I... Francine, you should ask Jonathan! He'll be upset if I tell you the truth. Jonathan dislikes when people discuss him behind his back. If I tell you, he won't do anything to you, but he'll take it out on me."

Francine stood up, visibly more upset. "Fine, I won't ask you then. I'll ask him myself!"

“Francine-" Before Maddie could intervene, Francine had stormed out of the ward.

It was obvious she was extremely angry.

Once Francine was out of sight, the strain and grievance on Maddie's face disappeared, giving way to a smirk.

Nikolas was right. If she just sat back, all she could do was watch Jonathan and Bethany grow closer. She needed to leverage the little influence she had.

The project in Canbidge was at a crucial stage. Jonathan and Brody had arranged to take an early flight there tomorrow. If all went well, they planned to return by evening.

Although it would be tiring, Jonathan couldn't afford to leave Bethany's side now.

On one hand, the framing incident remained unresolved, with the potential for further complications. On the other hand, Bethany had Jayson by her side for support.

Jonathan needed to be on alert.

"Mr. Bates, we need to finalize the list of employees for this project. Do you need more time?" Brody was secretly hoping that Bethany's name would appear on that List.

This project was an extraordinary opportunity for anyone in the investment industry-a chance that came maybe once in a lifetime.

If Bethany missed out on this, the missed opportunity would be irretrievable. Even if she was later cleared of all charges, it would still be a great loss.

"There's no need to delay," Jonathan said after a brief pause.

Brody nodded. As the meeting was about to end, Jonathan unexpectedly instructed, “Put Bethany's name on the list.”

"What?" Brody was taken aback. "But..."

"I will clear Bethany's name before the list is finalized," Jonathan said, then logged off the company's internal system.

Brody was perplexed.
