"The bath towels are on the top shelf of the cabinet. If you can't reach them, use the stool," Mia called out from outside the bathroom door. A pause, then a softer mutter. "You probably don't need it."

"Okay. Thanks," Rowland replied, listening to the sound of her slippers shuffling away. Then he began unbuttoning his damp shirt.

The first rays of dawn peeked through the window, bathing the room in soft light. His usual daily routine left him dead tired by now. Taking a hot shower and using Mia's shampoo and body wash made him even more drowsy.

A thought crept into his mind-if she fell asleep while he was in here, it would be perfect. No need for awkward excuses. No chance she'd insist on pushing him out the door.
