Mia said nothing. She didn't need to—her tears spoke volumes. They poured freely now, faster than Rowland could wipe them away.

"Don't cry," he whispered, his voice breaking under the weight of her sadness. "It's all my fault. I should have told you sooner that I love you. Maybe I didn't show it clearly, but from now on, I'll tell you every day. Is that okay?"
