Mia stepped into the bathroom and barely had time to open the pregnancy test kit when her phone suddenly rang.

Startled, she fumbled, and the box slipped from her hands, hitting the floor with a thud.

She glanced at the screen. It was Rowland.

Mia picked up the box and hit the answer button, her tone sharp. "What do you want?"

"There's a restaurant I found with amazing food. Want to go check it out?" Rowland was completely unaware of the chaos on her end. He just wanted to see her. "No! I'm not going anywhere! Goodbye!"
