Chapter: 328
He didn't hit it.

If Bethany returned to Jonathan, Jayson knew he'd lose any chance he might have had with her.

In the end, he decided to be selfish, just this once.

Silently, he pocketed his phone and turned away, leaving Jonathan to his sorrow.

As he walked away, Jayson mused about destiny and fate. If it was meant to be, Jonathan would hear about Bethany's pregnancy, somehow.

And if he didn't, well, perhaps that was how things were meant to unfold. Maybe that was his fate.

Bethany had anticipated a sleepless night, knowing that after tomorrow's wedding, she and Jonathan would truly part ways.

The uncertainty of what lay ahead weighed heavily on her mind.

But perhaps due to the fatigue of pregnancy, she drifted off soon after closing her eyes.

The shrill ring of her phone shattered the stillness of the night, jolting Bethany awake. Squinting at the unfamiliar number on the screen, she hesitated before answering.

"Hello, Miss Holt. I'm from the wedding company. I'm outside to pick you up."

"I'll be ready in a minute."

After hanging up the phone, Bethany quickly got up to get dressed.

She skipped the makeup for now and hurried downstairs.

Spotting a sleek black car waiting outside, she approached and got in.

It wasn't until she settled into the seat that she noticed Jonathan sitting beside her.

Bethany's heart skipped a beat.

Shouldn't he be waiting at the wedding venue? This wasn't the usual way.

"The wedding is rushed, and you didn't have a chance to try on the dress beforehand," Jonathan explained. He wanted to start by Bethany trying on the wedding dress.

Bethany furrowed her brow, puzzled by Jonathan's unconventional approach. But knowing this was their final day together, she decided to humor him.

Along the way, the silence between Bethany and Jonathan was palpable.

It was so strange that even the driver couldn't help but notice. He had chauffeured many soon-to-be newlyweds, and though some bickered or laughed nervously, this was the first time he had encountered a couple shrouded in such thick, unspoken tension.

When they arrived at the dress shop, Bethany opened the door and stepped out. As she looked up, she saw Jonathan already there, extending his hand towards her.

“What?" she asked, her voice tinged with confusion.
