Chapter: 338
“Sorry, the connection was poor just now," Bethany apologized.
Ryan said sincerely, "No worries! If there's anything you don't want to handle, let Colt take care of it! Although he's appointed as the lead for the project, your role is equally vital. The company values mutual support. If Colt upsets you in any way, you can always let me know."
“Colt looks after me well."
“Good to hear! Anything else?"
It would have been ungrateful for Bethany to decline further.
“No, nothing else. I apologize for disturbing your rest."
“It's alright. Once the project is successfully completed, we will host a celebratory banquet for both of you. And I promise you a year end bonus of no less than seven figures."
Bethany managed a dull smile, her thoughts still consumed by Jonathan's impending marriage.
After hanging up, she stayed where she was, lost in thought.
Wasn't it natural for Jonathan to marry? He couldn't remain single forever because of her. Other men remarried within months after losing a spouse; her history with him was three years ago. Indeed, it was time for him to move on.
After sorting through her emotions, Bethany powered on her computer and resumed work.
The top priority now was to make money and earn enough funds to hire the best hacker to decrypt the missing surveillance footage from her mother's ward that year.
Although the footage had been deleted, Bethany had borrowed a large sum from Aimee to purchase the hospital surveillance room's computer at a high cost.
Jayson had consulted multiple computer experts, all to no avail, until someone suggested that their only hope lay with a foreign hacker named Jax. That was their sole chance.
Furthermore, this individual's fee was exorbitant, ranging from thirty to fifty million.
Bethany was unwilling to forgo any opportunity to uncover the truth, even though she wasn't certain whether the restored surveillance would reveal who had harassed her mother.
Meanwhile, Brody was on the highway from Westsilver to Odonset.
“Mr. Bates, as per your instructions, I've given them a one-week ultimatum to handle the holdouts."
"Okay."
The voice on the other end of the line was subdued, devoid of any discernible emotion.
Brody scanned through the manila envelopes in her grasp and inquired, "Goldwald Company has forwarded detailed information on the project's lead. Should I forward it to you?"
Jonathan paused briefly. "No need. This project belongs to GrandFuture Investment; let them manage it on their own."
"Understood."
Following Brody's response, Jonathan remained on the line without disconnecting.
