Chapter: 373
Aimee turned away, her face clouded with annoyance.

Nola, unaware of the details of their dispute, noticed the IV needle in her mother's hand and approached cautiously. Her eyes welled up with tears. "Mommy... Does it hurt?"

Bethany smiled warmly and drew her daughter into a hug. “I'm fine, sweetie. Don't cry. Remember, you look much prettier when you smile!"

"Did someone hurt you? I'll beat them up for you!" Nola declared, wrapping her arms tightly around Bethany's neck and squeezing affectionately. "I've grown up now. I can protect you!"

“Well, my girl is the best," Bethany said as she gently stroked Nola's hair, taking a deep breath as if steeling herself for a significant decision. “Aimee, after I wrap up the resort project, I'm planning to move abroad with Nola. I've already informed the company."

Aimee's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Are you sure?"

Bethany nodded firmly. “I can't deprive my children of mother's love. Staying here has become too dangerous. We need to be safe, so leaving is our best option."

She realized that staying home only nurtured her unrealistic hopes.

Even if she tried to deceive herself, her heart knew the truth.

It was like hearing Jonathan's voice when she was in danger.

The more she considered it, the more she felt things couldn't continue this way.

“Okay, I'll support whatever decision you make! Besides, if you're moving abroad, I'm coming with you. If you're busy, Jayson can look after me there. You're not getting rid of me that easily!"

“Aimee, I can't thank you enough for everything over the years."

"Stop! Stop!" Aimee interjected, rolling her eyes. "I don't want to hear that. I just hope you'll avoid any more danger!"

Just as Bethany was about to respond, she noticed a figure quickly passing by the door of the ward. It was a male doctor.

He wasn't Ryan or Colt.

Noticing that Bethany was distracted, Aimee followed her gaze towards the figure passing by the door.

"Who is that?"

"I don't know him," Bethany replied and felt strange.

Bethany was the only patient in the ward, so the doctor must be here to see her. He lingered at the doorway, glancing in her direction but not entering. He left as soon as she saw him. It was weird.

“Maybe he's mesmerized by your beauty," said Aimee.

"You think too much." Bethany kept silent about how she had imagined that it was Jonathan who had saved her. The idea seemed implausible, a mere fantasy with no grounding in reality.

"I'll let Jayson know about your plans to move abroad. He can take care of us. He's been single for ages. You know why, don't you?"

Aimee exclaimed.
