Chapter: 380
“You haven't met her. After you do, you might see why I think marriage isn't such a bad idea," Ryan countered.

The man on the other end almost rolled his eyes. "Come on, wake up! She's married! And even if she gets divorced, she's still been married before."

“That doesn't bother me at all. My feelings for her aren't diminished by her past." Ryan smiled, clearly smitten.

“Enough! I'm booking a flight right now! I've seen the woman who captivated Jonathan; now I need to see the one who has you so enchanted, Ryan!"

Bethany spent one night in the hospital and requested discharge the next morning.

With a mountain of tasks awaiting her at the construction site, how could she possibly rest easy in a hospital bed?

“Why don't you take a few more days to rest? Ryan will scold me if he finds out." Upon seeing her at the site, Colt quickly approached.

"I'm fine." Bethany handed the contracts to Colt. "I reviewed these contracts one by one last night and found no issues. If you're unsure about the food tender for the resort, feel free to get a professional opinion. I've highlighted the key points and included tender suggestions in the documents. Ryan stressed the importance of food safety qualifications repeatedly, and we must enforce this strictly to avoid any negative publicity for the resort."

Colt gave a thumbs up and responded, "I trust your work!"

Bethany smiled and was about to leave, but then she stopped and turned back to ask, “Colt, are the people who attacked me still detained awaiting prosecution?"

"Yes, that's what the police said," Colt confirmed.

"So, my injuries are considered legal harm?" Typically, such injuries would lead to detention and compensation, not criminal charges!

Bethany found this surprising.

"They didn't provide details, but they did mention that someone ordered a harsh punishment for your attackers."

Bethany furrowed her brows and asked, "Ryan did this? We shouldn't make enemies with these villagers."

Colt shrugged. "It wasn't Ryan. We're not sure who it was. Remember, this is Westsilver, not Ryan's domain. Even if he did intervene, it wouldn't carry much weight here. Whoever did this must hold significant influence and power. Otherwise, the community would definitely support their own."

Seeing Bethany's concern, Colt offered a reassuring pat on her shoulder. "Don't fret too much! It's likely that local authorities intervened because they're worried about the impact on the project. This resort is crucial for Westsilver's development. They'd definitely want to avoid it being compromised by an incident where the project lead was assaulted by Locals."

Bethany nodded, feeling somewhat reassured. "Yes, that makes sense. We shouldn't pressure them too much. These villagers are simply looking for a better deal, which is understandable. The important thing is to keep the conflict from escalating and affecting the project."

"You always keep the project in focus. No wonder you've advanced so quickly! I've seen many use various means to climb the ladder, but you've genuinely earned your position through ability."

Colt knew something others might not.

With Ryan's feelings for her, a slight encouragement from Bethany could have easily landed her a higher position, even branch manager, simply on Ryan's say-so.

Bethany smiled. "You can say that to me, but let's keep it between us. It might stir up some issues if mentioned in front of others."

"Ah, but I'm only stating the facts."

She laughed and continued deeper into the construction site.
