Chapter: 418
To businessmen, profit always comes first.

“I understand."

“But I don't agree." Bethany moved to leave.

Ryan hurriedly blocked her path, earnestly proposing, “There haven't been any accidents so far. How about this? I'll increase the number of supervisors and replace all hard hats with new ones."

“Ryan, I hope these decisions come from genuine concern for your workers, who sweat and bleed on site, and not because of me."

"I swear, I don't want any bad press either." Ryan raised his hand as if taking an oath.

Bethany sighed deeply, realizing this was the best compromise for now.

Returning to her office, she settled into her chair and prepared to open her laptop.

Glancing at her phone, she noticed an unread message.

It was from Westsilver Driver. "Morning."

Had the message concluded with "Jonathan," she might have mistaken it for Jonathan himself.

"Morning. What's up?"

"I feel horrible about the car accident, which is why I've sent some gifts to make up for it. I hope you accept them."

Bethany arched an eyebrow at the message. This driver seemed to be too polite.

"No need, it wasn't a big deal. The car is completely fixed. Don't worry about it."

Just as she sent the message, an unknown number called her.

It was from a delivery service.

"Ms. Holt? Someone has sent you some items. Where would you like me to deliver them?"

Bethany reluctantly provided her location.

After ending the call, she messaged the driver again. “You're too generous! It's making me feel quite embarrassed."

He replied, "Please accept my gifts as an apology."

Meanwhile, in the CEO's office of Bates Group, Jonathan glanced at the recent conversation on his phone, a smile playing on his Lips.

Seeking advice from Brody on maintaining conversations, Jonathan followed suggestions to find common ground, share interests, and occasionally offer small gifts to keep the dialogue engaging.

It was a straightforward approach he chose for courtesy and prompt responses.
