Chapter: 544
This made Nikolas feel inexperienced by comparison. “Then hand over the number."
Rowan looked at him, then shook his head dismissively. "I can't just hand it over. You couldn't even locate me; I had to come out on my own!"
Nikolas was left speechless.
"We can make a deal." Rowan squinted and flashed a grin, the spitting image of a mini Jonathan—-though Jonathan never smiled. “Can I use your work computer?"
Nikolas was puzzled, unsure of Rowan's intentions but sensed he should be wary.
"My computer contains sensitive information. It's not for casual use."
“I'm not asking. I'm offering a trade. You want the number, I want access to your computer."
Nikolas was flabbergasted.
It somehow made sense!
“Explain what you plan to do with my computer."
"What else would I do? I need to contact my family." Rowan realized he couldn't easily fool Nikolas, so he played his ace, blinking innocently. "What do you think I'd do? Are you afraid I'll run off with it?"
"No, no, it's not that valuable. I could even give it to you!"
"Really? Thank you, then."
Nikolas pursed his lips, sensing something amiss in their exchange but unable to identify exactly what.
As they conversed, Jonathan's car pulled up.
He had hurried over right after receiving the call.
Rowan's eyes fixed on the approaching vehicle, and when he spotted the figure stepping out, his pupils expanded in surprise.
It was clear why her mom hadn't wanted him back in the country; the resemblance was uncanny.
Seeing Rowan, Jonathan felt like he was in a dream.
There, in front of him, was a child who bore an astonishing Likeness to him.
Frozen in place, Jonathan was snapped back to the present by Nikolas voice, prompting him to move forward.
Before he could utter a word, Rowan took the initiative. "Are you Jonathan Bates?"
"Yes."
Rowan studied him, then his expression shifted to a slight frown. “My teacher was right. Jerks really are handsome."
