Chapter: 662
"When can you take off all this equipment?" he asked the doctor.

"In a few more days. However, he can be moved from the ICU to a regular ward before then." With those words, the female doctor glanced at Bethany and offered a reassuring smile. “With his ‘miracle’ by his side, his recovery will be fast."

Godfrey frowned upon hearing this. Reluctantly, he acknowledged Bethany's vital role in his son's life. "I'll go and see how your mother is doing."

Watching Bethany support Jonathan, Aimee couldn't hold back her tears.

To experience such profound love, she would gladly sacrifice everything.

“Why are you crying?" Nikolas threw her a look, keeping his distance as if she carried a virus.

He was genuinely scared of her!

"It's none of your business," Aimee snapped back, intending to remind Bethany not to remain half-standing-bad for her still-healing legs.

But Nikolas was quick to intervene. "What do you think you're doing?"

“Bethany's legs are still healing. She shouldn't be standing like that!"

"Haven't you noticed they're enjoying themselves? Leave them be! Come with me."

"Wait..."

Aimee was hurried out of the ICU. Nikolas didn't pause until they reached downstairs.

“Just say what you want to say. Don't touch me!" Aimee shot him a fierce look. "Every time I see you, I see Maddie's face. You're as tainted as she is!"

Nikolas was at a loss for words.

His anger made him clench his teeth.

"Could you please stop bringing up Maddie around me?"

Nikolas' parents still piecing together the truth behind the car accident, but he had his suspicions about what really happened. So he didn't counter Aimee's rash accusation.

“Oh, are you upset because you're embarrassed?"

“I... I just want you to give them some space! Jonathan just woke up. They need time to reconnect without your interruptions!" Nikolas massaged his temples, feeling a headache brewing. “You're acting Like a nag!"

In comparison to Aimee, Nikolas found Bethany refreshingly sensible.

"If I'm a nag, then you're an idiot!" Aimee continued her tirade against Nikolas, though she had no intention of returning to the ward.

Just now, her mind was consumed with thoughts of Bethany's injury.

She was desperate to prevent any worsening of her friend's condition.
