Chapter: 697
Seeing real fear in her eyes, Nikolas finally stepped back, Laughing derisively. "Seems I need to assert my strength, or you'll think I'm weak. Show me some respect from now on, got it."
From the beginning, his intention was merely to teach her a lesson, not to actually harm her.
He knew well that this was Bethany's best friend. If he really crossed the line with her, Jonathan would likely retaliate fiercely.
Nikolas took a few steps back. Just as he was about to continue boasting, he suddenly noticed that she was crying.
“Hey? Hey! Don't cry!"
He had never really had to comfort anyone before, and all he managed to do was offer her some tissues.
This was undoubtedly the most challenging situation Nikolas had ever faced. The normally bold Aimee was genuinely crying this time.
Had he taken his teasing too far? Nikolas wondered.
"Get out!" Aimee, suddenly feeling a rush of emotions, couldn't quite understand why she felt so aggrieved.
Nikolas quickly gestured with his hands. "Alright, alright, I'm going! If you feel like going out later, just let me know. I'll drive you wherever you need to go, okay?"
"Get out!"
"Okay!"
The door closed, and still in tears, Aimee pulled out her phone to call Bethany.
After a few rings, someone answered. Before the person could even speak, Aimee burst into tears and yelled out her complaint.
“Bethany! Nikolas sexually harassed me! How can there be a man so disgusting?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line, then a low voice explained, "This is Jonathan. Bethany is too exhausted and has already gone to sleep."
Aimee fell silent.
"Did you just say Nikolas sexually harassed you?"
Aimee's immediate instinct was to hang up the phone.
Oh no!
What had she just told Jonathan?
In the ward, Bethany was deeply asleep.
She was so exhausted that it was hard to tell whether she was in a coma or asleep.
Sunlight filtered through the window, gently illuminating her face, which added a soft glow to her youthful features.
