Chapter: 723
What if Francine did pass away first? Then there would be no need for Bethany and Jonathan to face off.

“Her death isn't what I'm after. I want her to confess her crimes and pay with her life!"

Aimee hesitated before saying, "But that seems too hard to achieve."

The difference in power between Francine and Bethany was immense.

Bethany could easily find herself in danger if caught off guard.

“Aimee, what I fear most now isn't the Bates family coming after me or causing me harm. What terrifies me more is the look in Jonathan's eyes."

The mere thought of how Jonathan would react upon seeing the Lawsuit she filed to have his mother punished after the video was recovered by B7, caused her heart to ache.

"What are you scared of? If Jonathan defends his mother, it just shows he's not to be trusted. You're not framing them. The evidence is all there. Since time immemorial, blood demands blood. Why shouldn't his mother face justice for her crime?"

Bethany formed a smile and said, "I'd rather he blame me when he finds out."

"What?" Aimee was puzzled.

“Because then I won't feel guilty! But I know Jonathan isn't like that. He'll be very upset."

Jonathan didn't get to choose his parents.

His mother not only brought him into the world but also raised him, so he couldn't just dismiss her entirely.

“If you cause a scene like this, regardless of how the case ends, the public will remember the feud between you and the Bates family. Even years later, it will still be talked about. Then, you won't even have a chance to reconcile with Jonathan."

"I'm aware of all this," Bethany said, still smiling.

"You don't want to reconsider?"

"No, I'm firm on this."

"Alright! I'll do everything I can to support you! Jayson will help too." Aimee reached out and took Bethany's hand. “Life spans only a few decades, and there are many ways to live it. You can stick to doing what you believe in-exposing the truth and finding the real murderer of your mother. That's a valid way to live, not just through love."

Aimee always had a unique way of offering support.

Bethany stretched and laid her head on Aimee's shoulder. "Aimee, I will win."

"Yes, you will! Because you're on the side of justice!"

"Yes... I will definitely win..." Under the night sky, Bethany silently wiped away her tears. After a long pause, she regained her composure and said, "This is the only time I can be on good terms with Jonathan. What I need now is to enjoy this month. Then I'll be ready to pursue justice for everyone who wronged my mom."

"Okay! I'll be there for you."

Though Aimee didn't look at Bethany, she pulled a tissue from her pocket and handed it to her.
