Chapter: 743
It wasn't just his harsh words that bothered her, but his extensive romantic history, which Aimee lacked. How could she possibly compete with someone like him?
After a pause, Bethany noticed Jonathan's gaze fixed on her.
She quirked an eyebrow, touching her face self-consciously. "What?"
“Bethany, you're not upset with me because of Nikolas, are you?" he asked.
“Don't worry. I'm not going to hold his actions against you."
“That's a relief."
Meanwhile, Aimee was at the airport. After checking her luggage, she settled into a restaurant to eat.
She noticed a missed call from Bethany and considered returning it but ultimately chose not to.
Though she didn't call back, Aimee was touched to the point of tears as she ate.
Bethany has been too kind. She called repeatedly just because she cared!
Aimee had always dreaded farewells and had been this way since childhood. Whenever someone came to see her off, she would inevitably cry. Even the mere sight of such a scene would make her want to cry!
Tears streamed down Aimee's cheeks as the steak on her plate steadily diminished.
By the time she nearly finished her meal, she wiped her eyes and headed to the lounge to wait for her flight.
Her flight was first class, booked by Jayson, who wanted to ensure.
Aimee glanced around nervously. Luckily, no one seemed to be paying attention to her.
"Can you just let me go? Why would I run away? I haven't done anything wrong!"
“Oh, you haven't?" Nikolas' eyes widened with mock surprise.
Aimee stared right back at him, exasperated. “What did I do wrong? Enlighten me!"
Nikolas, red-faced and fuming, struggled for words. He couldn't exactly air their dirty Laundry in public. But then, a thought struck him. "You wore my hoodie, didn't you? And you didn't return it! It's worth ninety-five thousand dollars."
Aimee's mouth dropped open. Was this guy for real? He'd bought a first-class ticket just to chase her down over a hoodie? Did it hold some magical significance or something?
"Now, give me back the hoodie!"
“I don't have it. I left it with the receptionist when I checked out,"
Aimee said, scrunching up her face. “Didn't she tell you when you checked out?"
Nikolas froze.
