Chapter: 774
If they weren't in such a public place, she would have openly called him out for his audacity.

"Is that how desperate you've become for a girlfriend?" Aimee narrowed her eyes, pointing an accusatory finger. "I see now. This is payback, isn't it? You think I was unfair for scolding you!"

"No, I'm asking you to take responsibility," Nikolas countered.

“Enough of this nonsense! Leave me alone! I'm going home!”

She had no time to entertain his crap.

“You're going home? Alright, I'll tag along and meet your parents,"

Nikolas said.

Aimee stopped in her tracks, staring at him incredulously. “What's gotten into you?"

“Yes, something's wrong with me. You need to come to the hospital with me," Nikolas persisted.

“That's not happening!"

Nikolas brushed off her objections and grasped her hand firmly, leading her towards the door of her parents’ apartment.

Aimee's heart raced as she struggled to break free. "What's your problem?"

"You said your mom would beat you to death if she knew about us. I want to witness that."

“Before my mother beat me to death, she'll kill you first, the scoundrel who took advantage of her daughter! Let go of me!"

Aimee fought back with all her strength this time.

If her parents saw her in this state, she couldn't begin to imagine the consequences.

When Nikolas saw her fight with all her strength, he was surprised.

He didn't think she'd be so strong. He held back, worried that using too much force might actually hurt her.

Aimee finally pulled her hand away and, without a moment's hesitation, started running in the opposite direction of her home.

She knew Nikolas would definitely pursue her, and resolved to run as far from home as she could.

She had planned to run out of the community, but Nikolas caught up with her and grabbed the back of her neck just after she had run the distance between two buildings.

“Aimee, I'm at least twenty centimeters taller than you. How did you think you could outrun me?"

Nikolas caught up with her effortlessly, trapping her in the corner by the building entrance, while Aimee was gasping for breath from exhaustion.

As someone who rarely exercised and preferred staying at home, running at full speed had left her utterly drained.
