Chapter: 794
Bethany acknowledged with a nod, “Okay.”
It was clear to Bethany that Samira had significant plans today, as it was unusual to see her out of her standard white coat.
Bethany asked, “Samira, where are you headed looking so elegant?"
“My parents insisted I wear this because there's a special event I just can't miss," Samira explained as she continued changing Jonathan's dressing. "It might be a blind date, I think."
"A blind date?"
"I'm not sure, but I have a feeling," Samira said with a smile.
“They've been pushing me to get a boyfriend for a while, but I wasn't in the right frame of mind. Now, I can't delay it any Longer. I feel like it's causing them trouble, so I need to go."
Bethany nodded and responded, “I hope you find the right person.”
Samira gestured dismissively and said, “It's probably not going to happen. I'm just going to satisfy their wish."
Bethany was entertained by Samira's remarks and saw her as joyful, hopeful, and naive. She believed that fate would definitely bring her a good partner.
After Samira had finished with the bandages and left, Bethany approached Jonathan's bedside and playfully waved her hand before his eyes. "Did you notice? Samira's dress was quite stunning."
At this, Jonathan paused his task and looked up at her. "What dress?"
"Didn't you see her?"
“I was going over the contract," Jonathan answered and then turned his laptop towards her.
Bethany pouted and said, “Samira looked really pretty today. It's too bad you missed it."
Jonathan was nearly done with his contract review, but her comment made him pause.
With a slight raise of his eyebrows, he drew her closer and asked, "You don't think something is happening between me and that doctor, do you?"
"No, I don't."
“Bethany, don't worry. My love is for you alone.”
Jonathan's love was for Bethany alone. There could be no one else.
“Why ?"
Bethany gazed into his eyes, and she was certain he was sincere.
But still, why?
What was it about her that made her so valuable to him?
