Chapter: 806
"And if not me, then who? Who do you want looking after you?"
Nikolas let out a sigh, his voice tinged with both irritation and persuasion. "Come over to my place first. Clean up, take a shower, change your clothes."
Aimee shook her head. "No way."
"My folks won't be around. I've already texted them. Just freshen up. Besides, even if you dodge the blind date, you can't show up at home like this."
Aimee had initially planned to head to Jayson's place.
Yet, Nikolas made a solid point.
In such a disheveled state, Jayson would definitely get worried and start bombarding her with questions. What could she possibly tell him?
She hadn't thought that far ahead.
"Just come over, change, and I'll treat you to a meal afterwards. My treat."
“But you don't have any of my clothes at your place!"
"I'll buy you new ones! Whatever you choose, it's on me." He was adamant she ditch that pink dress. It made him sick.
"Fine." Aimee gave in. Did she really have a better option at the moment?
“To my place then?" Nikolas’ face broke into a bright smile.
Aimee, ignoring him, turned her head away.
Nikolas narrowed his eyes and grinned, cheerfully making his way to the front with the car keys in hand.
Her phone buzzed repeatedly with notifications.
Aimee glanced down and saw messages from Bethany.
“Did you go? How's it going?"
“I'm waiting for your update! Did you like your blind date?"
“I guess you like him since you're too busy to check your phone.”
A pang of injustice hit Aimee, and her lip trembled. Finally, she couldn't hold back her tears any longer and burst into crying.
Her sobs startled Nikolas, prompting him to quickly pull the car over.
"What's wrong?" he asked, concerned.
“It hurts. Nikolas, you jerk! It hurts so much, and you just don't care!"
