Chapter: 887
“What do you appreciate about him? Tell me." Henson assessed the young man before him, his face showing no change, and asked, "Is it his appearance? Or perhaps the luxurious car he has parked outside?"

Aimee found herself without words.

“Aimee, we're a simple family. Your mother and I have only you. We never expected you to marry someone wealthy. Look at him-his demeanor practically broadcasts playboy. Are you prepared for that? He claims he loves you, but tomorrow, he might say the same to someone else. Who will you turn to then? Your mother and I won't be able to support you."

Henson hoped his daughter would marry someone of similar social standing. By doing so, if any issues arose in the marriage or if she faced any mistreatment, he would be in a position to seek justice for her.

However, if the other party was powerful and wealthy, even putting his life on the line might not secure justice.

What then could he do?

He did not want his daughter to suffer.

Understanding the concerns of her family, Nikolas quickly assured them, "Aimee and I have talked about this. I will transfer all my assets to her. If I ever cheat on her, I agree to a no-fault divorce and will yield all my assets."

Henson and his wife were stunned when they heard that.

“I swear I am serious about Aimee. This is no joke," Nikolas said, raising his hand solemnly. "I have been pursuing her for a long time. This isn't just a fleeting thought about marrying her. I know I have had a bad reputation, but from now on, I will only love Aimee."

He spoke clearly and deliberately. Even Aimee found herself giving him a second look.

She wondered if he had made such promises before, given how smoothly he made them now.

After all, her understanding of him was based solely on his words and her assumptions. She had never witnessed his behavior firsthand.

It was uncertain whether he had truly loved any of the other girls he had met.

Perhaps he had rehearsed these lines before to flirt with other women.

“We need to think about this further. You should go home now,”

Henson said, exchanging a glance with his wife. They decided it was best to take some time to reflect after today's events.

"No, please wait. My parents are already on their way here!" Nikolas had called his parents just moments ago. Upon hearing the situation, they had dropped everything to come.

Gilda was excited to make Aimee her daughter-in-law, which would mean she no longer needed to worry about her son's marriage.

"We do not wish to meet them today," Henson said firmly. "As you can see, today is not the right time for that."

Seeing the determination in her parents’ faces, Aimee felt compelled to speak up. “Dad, Mom, I'll explain everything later, but Nikolas has already invited his parents over. It would be rude to reject them now. They could be my future parents-in-law. We shouldn't spoil the relationship between our families, right?"

The phrase “future parents-in-law" carried a hint of significance.

Nikolas's eyes lit up as he looked at Aimee.

She had indirectly accepted his proposal. How could he not feel overjoyed?
