Chapter: 95
“Why don't you bring her along? I wouldn't want her to misunderstand,"

Maddie suggested.

“She's not feeling well today."

In reality, Jonathan suspected that Bethany preferred not to be seen in public with her face swollen from the slap.

Gradually, Maddie clenched her fists but maintained a smile. “I'm sorry for the inconvenience tonight."

"It's no problem."

They soon reached the hospital, where Nikolas was waiting attentively at the entrance.

Unlike Jonathan, Nikolas quickly approached, opened the car door, and carried Maddie out of the passenger seat.

"Jonathan, hold on. Come with me! If Maddie needs to stay in the hospital, the doctor will need her to complete some patient forms. I'll take her for the initial check-up, and you can handle the paperwork."

"Alright," Jonathan responded with a nod and a cool demeanor, parking the car in a nearby spot. As he walked towards the hospital, he sent a message to Bethany.

“Get some rest. If your face is still swollen tomorrow, you can work from home, I'll speak to Brody about it."

However, Bethany didn't reply.

She must have gone to sleep by now.

Confident that he wouldn't receive a reply anytime soon, Jonathan entered the hospital with assurance.

That night, Bethany couldn't sleep, despite Jonathan's absence. Had she grown so accustomed to his presence in such a short time?

She noticed Jonathan's message but chose not to respond.

Early the next morning, Bethany went to the bathroom to freshen up.

Lack of sleep was evident in her appearance, with dark circles under her eyes, reflecting her fatigue.

She applied a heavier layer of foundation to cover up the bruise.

After changing and stepping out of the bedroom, she heard sounds from the kitchen.

In her slippers, Bethany walked over and saw Jonathan cooking breakfast, wearing an apron.

When had he returned?

“Good morning, Bethany. Just wait a bit. Breakfast will be ready soon,"

Jonathan greeted her.
