Chapter: 999
Getting no answer, Aimee wondered if he had left.
Just as she reached for her phone, she heard faint footsteps inside.
The door creaked open to reveal Jayson, his face pale and lips colorless.
“Jayson! What's wrong?" Aimee cried out.
Before he could answer, he collapsed to the floor.
In a panic, Aimee scrambled for her phone and called for emergency help.
Knowing that she probably couldn't manage the situation at the hospital on her own, Aimee made another call to her parents.
The ambulance arrived quickly, and the paramedics hurried to Lift Jayson onto a stretcher and into the vehicle.
“Jayson, don't scare me!" Aimee's voice trembled as her hands shook uncontrollably. To her, Jayson meant so much that she couldn't bear to lose him.
Once they reached the hospital, the doctors swiftly wheeled Jayson into the emergency room for examination. Aimee paid the bill at the front desk and, unable to accompany Jayson, took a seat on a bench in the waiting area.
She then sent Nikolas a quick message: "Are you busy right now?"
Seeing the pallor on Jayson's face had left her flustered and shaken.
She longed for Nikolas' presence.
Nikolas responded promptly, "Yes, there's a lot going on at the company. Honey, wait for me a bit. I'll try to get back as soon as I can to be with you."
Aimee bit her lip, choosing not to tell Nikolas about Jayson's condition. She knew she couldn't keep bothering him while he was caught up in his work. Each project at the Bates Group was worth even tens of hundreds of millions, and she didn't want to be the cause of any distractions.
"Aimee!"
Henson arrived first, quickly scanning the area before spotting his daughter. He rushed towards her.
"Dad."
"How is Jayson? I called his parents, and they're on their way to Odonset, but it might take some time for them to get here!"
Aimee looked up, her eyes brimming with tears. “Jayson was sent to the emergency room as soon as we arrived. I don't know what happened, but he looked so bad..."
"Don't be scared. I'm here," Henson comforted her, gently patting her back. “Jayson will be fine. Don't worry."
Aimee nodded, but as soon as she was in her father's arms, she couldn't hold back her tears any longer. She sobbed uncontrollably, feeling utterly overwhelmed.
"Where's Nikolas? Didn't he come with you?"
"He's busy with work today, so I didn't tell him."
