Chapter: 270
Ted shook his head stubbornly. "No! He promised me. I want my reward!"

Caden fixed his gaze on Ted.

His eyes held a menacing intensity that was difficult to interpret.

"You fought well. You deserve a reward." Caden turned to Alicia.

"Arrange the reward for him."

Alicia winced, trying to ease the pain in her head.

His words left her stunned. "What?"

Mrs. Reyes's expression shifted as she pulled Ted closer. "Mr. Ward, he's just a child. He doesn't understand. Please let him go!"

Caden's face revealed nothing. "Did I say anything harsh? Why are you so afraid?"

Mrs. Reyes felt a slight tremor run through her.

Though she didn't know Caden well, their brief interactions today had shown her his decisive and ruthless nature.

When he discovered something had happened to Alicia, he had thrown Ted to the ground without hesitation.

If things had gone even slightly wrong, Ted could have easily suffered a serious injury.

Caden displayed no mercy toward the children, and his earlier command for them to fight felt like a vendetta against them.

He did mention that there would be a reward.

Mrs. Reyes sensed that what was coming was definitely not good.

Caden wasted no time. He looked at Alicia and said, "For the next half hour, Ted is yours. Do with him as you please."

Understanding the implication behind his words, a surge of exhilaration flooded Alicia, momentarily overshadowing the pain from her injuries.

Caden had opened the door for her.

She wasn't going to let this brat escape unscathed.

Thereafter, she called over two servants to assist her.

Seeing her pleas had no effect, Mrs. Reyes's demeanor shifted. "What right do you have to treat Ted this way? He made a mistake that any child could make. He doesn't know any better, and neither do you. Hurting children is against the law!"

Caden leaned back, appearing unfazed.

Alicia couldn't help but feel amused. “Isn't it illegal for him to attempt murder? He may be a minor, but that doesn't change the fact that he tried to kill me. If we take legal action, both you and your husband will face the consequences."

Alicia continued, “Do you really want to escalate this? We can involve the police. I'll work with them and share the whole story with the media. Everyone will know how Ted hurt me. I'm sure Mr. Reyes will appreciate you raising such a tough son, and the entire Reyes family will take pride in you."

Mrs. Reyes's legs trembled, and she nearly collapsed onto the ground.

She didn't want anything bad to happen to Ted, but she also feared the repercussions of making a scene.

If the Reyes family were to find out about this, her life would be ruined.

In a shaky voice, she said, "Ms. Bennett, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault. I disliked you, so I told Ted to make things difficult for you. He didn't mean to hurt you this badly!"

Alicia remained unaffected.
