Chapter: 312
He felt pretty good at the moment and saw no reason to bicker.

In a rare show of generosity, he said, “You can store the things you brought here last time in the study."

Alicia slept until noon. When she finally woke up, she got out of bed and began organizing her belongings.

The study was spacious, with one wall set aside specifically for her use.

After placing the final picture frame, Alicia paused. Wasn't she supposed to be renting her own place? Why was she putting her things here?

The thought disappeared as quickly as it came.

She hadn't had any time to search for a new apartment.

Furthermore, she couldn't afford a nearby place, and she didn't want to live too far away. It was simply more convenient to come to Caden's apartment whenever something came up.

Despite that, for the week following that night, she refused to let Caden touch her.

"It's been a week already. You still don't feel better?" Caden asked, frowning in disbelief.

Alicia threw her accusation at him, clearly frustrated by his actions.

“Even an animal needs rest. You didn't let me have any that night!"

Caden responded calmly, “Animals rest and then keep going the next day. You've had a whole week."

In a stern voice, Alicia told him, “Are you actually comparing me to an animal now?"

Caden didn't respond.

Because of her, this conversation had now become weird.

Used to handling these kinds of arguments, he knew better than to continue.

He decided it was smarter to stop there before it escalated.

When he didn't reply, Alicia asked, "So, you finally understand how wrong you were, don't you?"

Caden simply shook his head.

"Technically, I haven't done anything wrong according to the agreement. But I've learned it's sometimes smarter to admit fault."

Alicia blinked in surprise.

What was he talking about?

Did he mean from experience with other women?

Trying to stay composed, she said, "I thought you were more of the controlling type when it came to relationships."

Caden smiled faintly as his expression softened. It was clear he was thinking of someone else. "I wouldn't dare be that way. She's a handful."

This was the first time Alicia witnessed him smile like that.

Whoever he was thinking about seemed to leave him both frustrated and amused.

Alicia wanted to mock him. He was such a confident man, but some woman had bested him.

As she tried to smile, she realized her lips felt stiff.
