Chapter: 436
Letting out a sigh, she pushed back her chair and headed toward the door of the private lounge.
Caden leaned against the wall and glanced at his watch. "You really can't stand losing, can you? You showed up at exactly one minute and fifty-nine seconds."
Alicia skipped the formalities. She leaned in and whispered, “Where is Joshua?"
"Mr. Wade's waiting on my word," Caden replied.
She grasped the reality of the situation. The outcome rested entirely on her actions.
Alicia clenched her fists.
"Our agreement clearly states you can't threaten me."
Caden responded calmly, "If that agreement means so much to you, why keep yourself trapped in this endless loop with me?"
This time, Alicia couldn't come up with a response.
Not wanting him to read her thoughts, she turned away, feeling a flush of embarrassment.
"I never agreed to the marriage my family arranged," Caden continued.
Alicia remained silent.
Growing impatient from her silence, Caden said, "Give me a quick kiss, and we'll go. Come here."
Alicia scowled at him and said, "Is now really the time for that?"
Caden didn't respond and just stared at her with a stern gaze.
With a sigh, Alicia stepped closer, wrapped her arms around his neck, and bit his lips.
Caden drew in a sharp breath.
Just as Caden was about to grab her and teach her a lesson, his phone rang. It was Mr. Wade, calling to talk to him about the pressing matter.
Caden decided to postpone dealing with her for now and focus on business first.
They left the lounge separately, with Caden leading and Alicia following closely behind.
Meanwhile, in another room, Joshua was becoming increasingly impatient.
He crushed his cigarette in the ashtray, wearing a grim expression.
"Mr. Wade, if you have no intention of lending me the money, just say so plainly. There's no need to play games with me," he said.
Mr. Wade felt cold sweat forming on his palms.
He relied on Caden's support, but with Caden still absent, he began to worry that Caden might be toying with him.
He knew that offending Joshua could lead to serious consequences.
Just as Joshua was about to leave, the door swung open suddenly.
Joshua looked up and froze in place.
Standing in the doorway were Caden and Alicia, side by side, forming a strikingly handsome couple. The sight was so dazzling that it felt like a stab to Joshua's eyes.
The anger Joshua had been suppressing surged instantly.
